How do Bandag Retreads work?
Some Monroe tire recappers haven't updated their processes and procedures in years. But at Bandag, we didn't become an industry leader by being like other companies. We've been designing and manufacturing standout retreads for more than four decades. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers use BASys Manufacturing technology to track casings in real time and increase retreading effectiveness. Here's how the rest of the retread process goes. A Bandag specialist begins with a hands-on inspection. They examine the tire inside and out and make note of damage along the way. The tire then undergoes an electrical inspection that identifies damage that can't be seen with the naked eye. Lasers measure any surface anomalies within the tire casing. Damaged casing parts are expertly removed and repaired, and the casing is once again useful. An uncured bonding layer is extruded onto the prepared casing surface. New tread is applied. The tire is nearly done. It's encased in an elastic envelope and ready for curing. After curing, the new tread has permanently adhered to the tire. Last but not least, the tire goes through another round of inspections to ensure it meets our high standards.
Experience the Bandag Retread Difference in Monroe
When it comes to big names in retreads, Bandag beats them all. You won't find a better product to support your fleet. That's why more fleets turn to Bandag for service, advice, and tires. Bandag retreads give back in more ways than one. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded one, two, or even three times depending on the situation. Bandag's most cost-efficient fleet customer, one of the largest fleets in the world, retreads tires more than two times on average. Layer a responsive tire management program on top of retreading and you can maximize your investment by stretching the effective life of your fleet tires.
Retreading is a business decision you can stand behind, and for a couple of reasons. Retreading can lower your fleet's environmental impact. A Bandag retread takes just seven gallons of oil to produce, while a brand new tire takes 22 gallons. Plus, Bandag's FuelTech fuel-efficient retreads lead the industry in terms of low rolling resistance (i.e., fuel economy) among retread and new tires. We get that all of that information can be tough to put into context, so consider this example: put retreaded tires instead of new tires on a single 18-wheeler and you'd save enough energy to power thousands of homes across America. Your home could be one of them.
From highway to field, slippery slope to quarry, Bandag retreads stick with you. Find a Bandag tire dealer in Monroe, WI for commercial retread tires near you. We roam where you roam.
