How do Bandag Retreads work?
Not all Mocksville tire retreaders follow the same procedures and process. But at Bandag, we didn't become an industry leader by being like other companies. We've been making world-class retreads for over 60 years. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers employ BASys Manufacturing technology [content-text-2-5] our dealers utilize BASys Manufacturing technology to monitor tire casings and increase retreading effectiveness. Here's how the rest of the retread process goes. A trained Bandag technician performs a visual inspection on the tire to be retreaded. They inspect it inside and out, marking any visible damage. The tire then undergoes an electrical inspection that identifies damage that can't be seen with the naked eye. Lasers measure any surface anomalies within the tire casing. Damaged casing parts are expertly removed and repaired, and the casing is once again useful. A bonding layer and new tread are carefully applied to the casing surface. The tire is almost ready. It's covered in special elastic and prepped for curing. The curing step permanently adheres the tread to the tire. Finally, the tire goes through another inspection to make sure our safety standards are met.
The Bandag Difference in Mocksville Is a Big Difference
Bandag: There's no better product you'd want to be installed on your fleet, and there's no bigger name in retreads. Many fleets come to Bandag for advice, service, and tires. Bandag retreads give back in more ways than one. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded multiple times. Bandag's most cost-conscious tire buyer, one of the largest modern fleets, retreads tires more than two times on average. Add an attentive tire management program with retreading and you can maximize your investment by extending the useful life of your fleet tires.
You can feel good about equipping your fleet with retread tires. Retreading can lower your fleet's environmental impact. While a brand new tire requires 22 gallons of oil to produce, a Bandag retread only uses seven gallons. Additionally, Bandag's FuelTech fuel-efficient retreads lead the industry in terms of low rolling resistance (i.e., fuel economy) among retread and new tires. We get that all of that information can be tough to put into context, so consider this example: put retreaded tires instead of new tires on a single 18-wheeler and you'd save enough energy to power thousands of homes across America. Your home could be one of them.
From city street to suburban alley, quarry to construction site, Bandag retread tires go with you. Contact a Bandag dealer near you in Mocksville for retread tires in North Carolina. We'll be there for you, no matter your fleet size.
