How do Bandag Retreads work?
Not all Terre Haute tire retreaders follow the same procedures and process. But at Bandag, we didn't snag almost double the market share of our nearest competitors by being like other companies. We've been designing and manufacturing standout retreads for more than four decades. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers use BASys Manufacturing technology to monitor tire casings and enhance retreading efficiency. Here's what the full retread process looks like. A trained Bandag technician performs a visual inspection on the tire to be retreaded. They inspect it inside and out, marking any visible damage. We don't stop at a visual inspection. The tire goes through an electrical inspection that can see "through the tire," into the sidewall and crown areas. Shearography then determines the conditions within the tire casing. The casing is inflated and readied for fresh tread. Repairs are made to the tire casing so that it's once again ready for work. A bonding layer and new tread are carefully applied to the casing surface. The near-ready tire is covered in a special elastic and prepared for curing. The new tread is permanently affixed to the tire after curing. Finally, the tire goes through another inspection to make sure our safety standards are met.
The Bandag Difference in Terre Haute Is a Big Difference
When it comes to big names in retreads, Bandag beats them all. You won't find a better product to support your fleet. It's no surprise that many fleets choose Bandag for tires, advice, and service. Think of Bandag retreads as a gift that keeps on giving. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded one, two, or even three times depending on the situation. Bandag's most cost-efficient tire buyer, one of the largest fleets in the world, retreads tires more than two times on average. When retreading is combined with a diligent tire management program and you can boost your investment by stretching the useful life of your fleet tires.
Retreading is a business decision you can stand behind, and for a couple of reasons. Retreading helps you save green by going green. A Bandag retread takes just seven gallons of oil to produce, while a brand new tire takes 22 gallons. Additionally, Bandag's line of FuelTech retreads are among the most fuel-efficient of all tires, new and retread. We understand that those facts can be difficult to visualize, so here's a real-world example: a single 18-wheel truck that utilized retreaded tires instead of new tires would save enough energy to power thousands of homes. One of those homes could be yours.
From field to highway, construction site to slippery slope, Bandag retread tires go with you. Find a Indiana Bandag dealer near you for retread tires in Terre Haute. We roam where you roam.
