How do Bandag Retreads work?
Not all Ocala tire recappers follow the same processes and procedures. But at Bandag, we didn't become an industry leader by being like other companies. World-class retreads are in our blood. They have been for decades. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers employ BASys Manufacturing technology [content-text-2-5] our dealers utilize BASys Manufacturing technology to track casings in real time and increase retreading effectiveness. Here's how the rest of the retread process goes. A Bandag specialist begins with a hands-on inspection. They examine the tire inside and out and make note of damage along the way. The tire then undergoes an electrical inspection that identifies damage that can't be seen with the naked eye. Lasers measure any surface anomalies within the tire casing. Damaged casing parts are expertly removed and repaired, and the casing is once again useful. A bonding layer and new tread are expertly applied. The tire is almost ready. It's covered in special elastic and prepped for curing. The curing step permanently adheres the tread to the tire. Finally, the tire goes through another inspection to make sure our safety standards are met.
The Bandag Difference in Ocala Is a Big Difference
When it comes to big names in retreads, Bandag beats them all. You won't find a better product to support your fleet. Many fleets come to Bandag for advice, service, and tires. Bandag retreads give back in more ways than one. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded one, two, or even three times depending on the situation. Bandag's most cost-conscious tire buyer, one of the largest modern fleets, retreads casings over and over – even at the steer position. Layer a responsive tire management program on top of retreading and you can maximize your investment by extending the service life of your fleet tires.
You can feel good about equipping your fleet with retread tires. Retreading can lower your fleet's environmental impact. While a brand new tire requires 22 gallons of oil to produce, a Bandag retread only uses seven gallons. What's more, Bandag's FuelTech fuel-efficient retreads lead the industry in terms of low rolling resistance (i.e., fuel economy) among retread and new tires. We get that all of that information can be tough to put into context, so consider this example: one 18-wheel semi-truck riding on retreaded tires instead of new ones would save enough energy to power hundreds and hundreds of homes. What if your home was one of them?
From the field to the highway, slippery slope to quarry, Bandag recap tires go where you go. Contact a Bandag dealer near you in Ocala for retread tires in Florida. We roam where you roam.
