Modern Retreading, By Bandag
Not all Sun Valley tire retreaders follow the same procedures and process. At Bandag, it's safe to say we're not like other companies. We're an industry leader. We've been making world-class retreads for over 60 years. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers employ BASys Manufacturing technology [content-text-2-5] our dealers utilize BASys Manufacturing technology to track casings in real time and enhance retreading efficiency. Here's how the rest of the retread process goes. A Bandag specialist begins with a hands-on inspection. They examine the tire inside and out and make note of damage along the way. The next inspection is an electrical one and uses technology that can "see through the tire" into the crown and sidewalls—where the human eye can't see. The tire casing goes through a separate review, after which the casing is inflated and the surface is prepped for new tread. Repairs are made to the tire casing so that it's once again ready for work. A bonding layer and new tread are carefully applied to the casing surface. The tire is nearly done. It's encased in an elastic envelope and ready for curing. After curing, the new tread has permanently adhered to the tire. Finally, the tire goes through another inspection to make sure our safety standards are met.
Experience the Bandag Retread Difference in Sun Valley
There's no bigger name in retreads, and there's no better product you'd want to be installed on your fleet than Bandag. That's why more fleets turn to Bandag for advice, service, and tires. Bandag retreads give back in more ways than one. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded one, two, or even three times depending on the situation. Bandag's most cost-conscious tire buyer, one of the largest fleets in the world, retreads casings over and over – even at the steer position. Add an attentive tire management program with retreading and you can enhance your investment by lengthening the service life of your fleet tires.
Retreading is a business decision you can stand behind, and for a couple of reasons. Retreading can lower your fleet's environmental impact. A Bandag retread takes just seven gallons of oil to produce, while a brand new tire takes 22 gallons. Additionally, Bandag's FuelTech retreads are some of the lowest rolling resistance tires on the market, for both new and retread tires. We get that all of that information can be tough to put into context, so consider this example: put retreaded tires instead of new tires on a single 18-wheeler and you'd save enough energy to power thousands of homes across America. One of those homes could be yours.
From the field to the highway, slippery slope to quarry, Bandag retreads stick with you. Find a Bandag tire dealer in Sun Valley, CA for commercial retread tires near you. We'll be there for you, no matter your fleet size.
