What's the Bandag Retread Process?
Not all Montgomery tire recappers follow the same processes and procedures. At Bandag, it's safe to say we're not like other companies. We're an industry leader. We've been designing and manufacturing standout retreads for more than four decades. Bandag retread manufacturing plants are ISO 9001:2000 certified and our dealers employ BASys Manufacturing technology [content-text-2-5] our dealers utilize BASys Manufacturing technology to monitor tire casings and increase retreading effectiveness. Here's how the rest of the retread process goes. A qualified Bandag specialist starts by performing a hands-on examination of the tire that will be retreaded and noting any damage. The tire then undergoes an electrical inspection that identifies damage that can't be seen with the naked eye. Shearography then determines the conditions within the tire casing. The casing is inflated and readied for fresh tread. The casing is repaired so that it's once again useful. A bonding layer and new tread are expertly applied. The tire is nearly done. It's encased in an elastic envelope and ready for curing. The new tread is permanently affixed to the tire after curing. Finally, the tire goes through another inspection to make sure our safety standards are met.
The Bandag Difference in Montgomery Is a Big Difference
Bandag: There's no better product you'd want to be installed on your fleet, and there's no bigger name in retreads. Many fleets come to Bandag for tires, advice, and service. Some say Bandag retread tires are like an investment that keeps paying dividends. Quality commercial tires can be retreaded multiple times. Bandag's most cost-conscious fleet client, one of the largest fleets in the world, retreads casings over and over – even at the steer position. Add an attentive tire management program with retreading and you can boost your investment by stretching the effective life of your fleet tires.
It's an investment you can feel good about in more ways than one. Retreading is an environmentally responsible tire choice. The numbers say it all. A Bandag retread only requires seven gallons of oil to produce. But a brand new tire? It takes over three times as much: 22 gallons. What's more, Bandag's FuelTech fuel-efficient retreads lead the industry in terms of low rolling resistance (i.e., fuel economy) among retread and new tires. We get that all of that information can be tough to put into context, so consider this example: one 18-wheel semi-truck riding on retreaded tires instead of new ones would save enough energy to power hundreds and hundreds of homes. Your home could be one of them.
From urban alley to cornfield, slippery slope to quarry, Bandag retread tires go with you. Contact a Bandag dealer near you in Montgomery for retread tires in Alabama. We roam where you roam.
